China-Europefreighttrainsmade4,186tripsandtransported449,000twenty-footequivalentunits(TEUs)ofgoodsinthefirstquarterthisyear,up15percentand28percentyearonyear,respectively,accordingtostatisticsreleasedbyChinaStateRailwayGroupCo.,Ltd.,orChinaRailway,onApril10.

Inparticular,1,488tripsweremadeand162,000TEUsweretransportedinMarchalone,growing31percentand52percentrespectivelyfromayearago.Itmarkedthe35thstraightmonthsinceMay2020thatChina-Europefreighttraintripsexceeded1,000.

OnthemorningofMarch24,afreighttrainloadedwithautomobilepartsandothercargodepartedfromWuhan,centralChina"sHubeiprovince.ItwasthefirstChina-EuropefreighttrainheadingforZhodzina,BelarusfromWuhan,andthethirdnewrouteforthecargoserviceopenedinthecitythisyear.

Sofar,thetransportationchannelinthecentralChinesecityhas44stablecross-borderroutesinvolving109citiesin40countriesontheEurasiancontinent.

Sincethisyear,anumberofChinesecitieshavelaunchednewroutesorstationsfortheChina-Europefreighttrainservice,includingBeijing,northChina"sTianjinmunicipality,AnyangofcentralChina"sHenanprovinceandZhongshanofsouthChina"sGuangdongprovince.Thecargoservicehasconstantlyexpandeditstransportationnetworkwithincreasingchannels.

Besides,upgradedservicesalsoenrichedthesourcesofcargoandclientsforChina-Europefreighttrains.Inparticular,theseamlessconnectionbetweentheland-based"SilkRoadEconomicBelt"andtheoceangoing"21st-centuryMaritimeSilkRoad"hasopenedupnewprospectsforrail-seaintermodaltrainservices.

Recently,acargovesselfromthePortofHoChiMinhCity,VietnamarrivedattheHaitianContainerTerminalatXiamenPort,southeastChina"sFujianprovince.Afterfasttransitformalities,cargoonthevesselwassoontransferredtoaChina-EuropefreighttrainboundforAlmaty,Kazakhstan.

AccordingtoanemployeeoftheChinaRailwayNanchangGroupineastChina"sJiangxiprovince,therail-seaintermodaltrainservicescouldshortenthecargotransportationtoonly20days,whichis45dayslesstimethanwholeseatransportation.IthasbecomethebestlogisticsroutebetweenSoutheastAsiaandCentralAsia,theemployeeadded.

TheconstantupgradingofinfrastructureandrelevantserviceshassignificantlyimprovedtheefficiencyofChina-Europefreighttrains.

Xi"anInternationalPortinnorthwestChina"sShaanxiprovince,adeparturestationandreturndestinationofChina-EuropefreighttrainsinXi"an,hasexpandeditshandlingcapacityby30percentafterthreeroundsofupgrading.

TheChinaRailwayBeijingGrouphasopenedtwocargoroutesinaChina-EuropefreighttrainbaseinShijiazhuang,northChina"sHebeiprovince,whichimprovesloadingcapacityby50percent.

InWuhan,thecustomsdepartmentandtherailwaydepartmentaresharinglogisticsdataoftheChina-Europefreighttrainservice,whichreducesthetimeforcustomsclearancebyonetotwodays.

Duringthesameperiod,315tripsdepartedfromWuhan,deliveringnearly26,000TEUs.Thetwofiguressurged202.88percentand202.8percentrespectivelyfromayearago.

Alsointhesamequarter,HefeiineastChina"sAnhuiprovincesetup21newstationsforthecargoservice.Atotalof340China-Europefreighttraintripsweremadebythecity,up49.78percentyearonyear.
